Terms of Use

Last updated

These terms apply to your use of Cut Express (“Cut Express”, “we”, “us”) at cut.express. By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them.

What Cut Express is

Cut Express is a video editor you use through AI assistants such as Claude. You send it media (videos, photos, audio); your AI assistant looks at it, decides the edit and writes it as a timeline; Cut Express renders the video. It can also search free stock media for you and generate voices, sound effects and transcripts. No AI model runs on Cut Express’s side to make editing decisions; the assistant you connect does that.

Plans and billing

  • Pro and Ultra are monthly subscriptions with the render minutes, credits, output quality, storage and other limits shown on the pricing page.
  • Render minutes count the length of the videos rendered in the calendar month (UTC), re-renders included, and reset on the first of the month. Failed renders are not counted. Unused minutes don’t carry over.
  • Credits pay for generated voices, sound effects and transcripts at the rates shown on the pricing page. Monthly credits roll over for up to three months while you subscribe. Credit packs are one-time purchases for subscribers and don’t expire while your account exists.

Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout (and may be charged in your local currency at the rate shown) and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; the plan stays active until the end of the month you paid for. Moving from Pro to Ultra starts Ultra right away and credits the unused part of Pro.

Your account

You sign in with your email and a password (or Google, where offered). You can create API keys and connect AI apps to your account, and each one can upload media, spend credits and render videos on your behalf. Keep your password, keys and connected apps secure: you are responsible for activity under them. You can revoke a key or disconnect an app at any time.

A plan is for one person.

Your media and videos

The media you upload and the videos Cut Express renders are yours. We don’t claim rights in them, don’t sell them, and don’t use them to train AI models. You need the rights to everything you upload, including music, footage and the people in it. You may use your rendered videos however you like, including commercially, subject to the rights of the material in them.

Rendered files and previews are reachable through unguessable links so your AI and the panels in your chat can show them. Anyone you give a link to can open that file. You can delete media and videos at any time.

Stock media

Stock videos and photos come from Pexels under the Pexels License, which allows free use including commercial use. Some content may still be restricted (for example identifiable people in a misleading or offensive context, trademarks or logos); you are responsible for how you use it. Crediting creators is appreciated.

Generated voices and sound

Voices and sound effects are generated by a third-party provider on your instructions. You may use them in your videos, including commercially. Don’t use them to impersonate a real person, to mislead, or for anything unlawful. You are responsible for the text you have read aloud.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Cut Express to:

  • upload, render or generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, sexualizes minors, or infringes someone’s rights;
  • create deceptive content that impersonates real people without their consent;
  • try to get around plan limits, rate limits or security, or access media or videos that aren’t yours;
  • resell Cut Express or run it as a service for others without our agreement;
  • send automated traffic beyond what your AI apps make on your behalf.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Connected AI apps

Cut Express works inside AI apps we don’t control. What those apps do with the previews, transcripts and videos they receive is governed by their own terms. Their availability, features and limits are set by their providers.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Cut Express available but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, and a render can fail. We may change or improve features, looks, fonts, caption styles and limits; we keep your rendered files downloadable while your account exists.

Refunds and cancellation

See the Refund Policy.

Liability

Cut Express is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Keep your own copies of anything important.
