Privacy Policy
Cut Express stores the media you send and the videos it renders so you can edit and download them. We keep the rest to a minimum and protect what we keep.
What we store
- Your email address, when you sign up or buy. It identifies your account and is where we send links and receipts. We store it encrypted.
- Your media: the videos, photos and audio you upload, the stock you add, the voices and sound effects you generate, and what we derive from them to edit (thumbnails, contact sheets, transcripts with word timings).
- Your videos: each version’s timeline (the edit your AI wrote) and the rendered files (the MP4, a poster and a thumbnail).
- A usage log of calls your AI apps make: the time, the tool, the app’s name, the media or video and the result. It records the size of each request and a fingerprint of it, never its content.
- Billing records from Stripe: what you bought, when, and the payment status. Card details stay with Stripe; we never see them.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a readable cookie that only says whether you are signed in.
What we don’t do with your content
- We don’t use it to train AI models, sell it, or use it for advertising.
- Cut Express runs no model that decides your edit; the AI that edits is the one you connect yourself.
How we use data
- To run the service: store your media, inspect it, generate the audio you ask for, render and serve your videos, and answer your connected AI apps.
- To bill you and send account emails (welcome, sign-in links, receipts).
- To keep the service safe: rate limits, abuse prevention, debugging.
Providers
- Railway hosts the application, the render service, the database and the file storage.
- ElevenLabs generates the voices and sound effects you ask for (it receives the text or the description) and makes transcripts when you ask for one (it receives the audio track only, never the picture).
- Pexels answers stock searches (it receives your search words, not your media).
- Stripe processes payments. Mailgun sends account email.
- Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may run on public pages, only after you accept the cookie banner, and never in the signed-in area.
AI apps you connect (such as Claude) see the previews, transcripts and links they request on your behalf, under their own privacy policies.
Retention
Media and videos are kept until you delete them or your account. Uploads you start and never finish are deleted after two hours. Deleting a file or a video removes its stored files right away; its record stays without the content, so this month’s minutes and your credit history still add up. Backups kept by our host age out on their own schedule. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. The usage log is kept while your account exists.
Your rights
You can download your videos and timelines any time, and delete media and videos from the app or by asking your AI. To delete your account, email support@cut.express from your account address: we cancel any subscription and delete the account, its media, videos, keys and usage log. You can also ask for a copy of your data or a correction. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights; we honor them.
