Refund Policy
This is the Free Trials, Billing & Refunds section of the Terms of Use, on its own page.
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Monthly plans. Your first Pro or Ultra plan starts with a 7-day free trial, with the plan’s full monthly credits. You aren’t charged when you sign up. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. After the trial, the plan renews automatically every month (Pro $19/month, Ultra $49/month) and payments are non-refundable: you had 7 days to try it and cancel at no cost.
Annual plans. Annual plans start with the same 7-day free trial. After the first annual charge, you have 30 days to ask for a refund. The refund is what you paid minus one month at the full monthly price (not the annual price divided by 12). The same 30-day rule applies to every annual renewal charge. After 30 days there is no refund, but you can turn off auto-renewal and keep your plan until the end of the year you paid for.
- Worked example: Pro annual is $190 and the full monthly price is $19, so a refund requested within 30 days is $190 − $19 = $171.
- Ultra annual is $490 and the full monthly price is $49, so the refund is $490 − $49 = $441.
Plan changes. Upgrades (Pro to Ultra, or monthly to annual) take effect immediately, and you’re charged the prorated difference now. You can ask for a refund of that prorated upgrade charge within 7 days. Downgrades (Ultra to Pro, or annual to monthly) take effect at the start of your next billing period (for annual plans, at renewal); there are no refunds or credits for downgrades. You change plans from your account, which shows what happens before you confirm.
Credit packs. Credit packs are one-off purchases. A pack is refundable within 7 days of purchase only if none of its credits have been used. Once you use any credit from a pack, it’s non-refundable. The monthly credits included in Pro and Ultra aren’t a pack: they follow the plan’s rules. Your monthly credits are always spent first, then your packs, oldest first, so an unused pack stays untouched.
Cut Express Desktop. The Mac app is a one-time purchase with a 7-day money-back guarantee, counted from the day you buy it. Within 7 days, open your download page, press the refund button and tell us in a few words why (or email us): the payment goes back to the original payment method through Stripe and the licence stops working on every machine. After 7 days the purchase is non-refundable.
Billing errors. A duplicate charge, or a charge caused by a technical error on our side, is always refunded in full.
Chargebacks. If you open a payment dispute (chargeback) with your bank, your account is suspended until the dispute is resolved. Please write to us first: we answer billing questions quickly.
How to cancel. Go to your account and click Cancel subscription / Manage billing. That opens Stripe’s billing page, where you cancel. Your plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for (in a free trial, it ends with the trial and nothing is charged). The trial reminder email also has a one-click cancel link.
How to ask for a refund. Email support@cut.express from your account address, with your Stripe receipt number (Cut Express Desktop can also be refunded from your download page). Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe; your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show them.
Earlier purchases. Subscriptions and purchases made before November 4, 2026 keep the terms in force when they were made. This includes active free trials and Cut Express Desktop pre-orders.
Your videos. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends: you can still sign in, see your videos and download them; new renders, uploads and generated audio need a plan again.
