YouTube Intro Maker: Short Intros and Outros by Chat

Cut Express · · 4 min read

A YouTube intro maker gives you a short opening sequence for your videos: your logo, your channel name, a sound. Cut Express does it by chat. You upload your logo and tell Claude the colours, the words and the length. Claude builds the intro as an animated title or end card, and Cut Express renders it. The same way, it builds your outro and adds both to the video you’re editing, so your channel gets a consistent look without a template that other channels also use.

Why do so many YouTube intros hurt the video?

Picture clicking a video for an answer and getting a ten-second logo animation first. Viewers came for the content you promised in the title, and a long intro stands between them and it. Many leave before it ends.

The fix isn’t “no intro.” It’s a short one, in the right place.

How long should a YouTube intro be?

  • Keep it short: a few seconds at most. A two or three second branded sting is plenty.
  • Put the hook first. Open on the first line of the video, the result or the question. Play the intro after it, once the viewer knows why they’re staying.
  • Or skip it. Many channels use only a lower-third name card or a logo in the corner. See lower thirds and how to add a logo to a video.

What goes in a good intro and outro?

Intro Outro
Length 2 to 3 seconds Long enough for YouTube’s end screen (5 to 20 seconds)
Content Logo or channel name, one short sound Subscribe line, next video, logo
Placement After the hook The last seconds of the video
Visual Your colours, one font, one motion Space left for end screen elements

For the outro, leave empty areas where YouTube’s end screen elements (video and subscribe tiles) will sit. You add those in YouTube Studio after uploading. Per YouTube’s help page, end screens go in the last 5 to 20 seconds of a video at least 25 seconds long.

How do I make a YouTube intro with Claude?

  1. Upload your logo (a PNG with a transparent background is the usual choice) and your video. First time? Connect Cut Express to Claude.
  2. Describe the intro: colours as hex codes, the font style, the words, the motion, the length.
  3. Say where it goes, usually after the hook.
  4. Ask for a sound. A short whoosh or impact from the 63 built-in sound effects is free. See add sound effects to video.
  5. Render and give notes. “Shorter,” “logo bigger,” “darker background.”

After my first line (about 0:06), add a 2.5-second intro: dark background #111111, my logo scales in at the centre, channel name “Desk Lab” types in under it in yellow #FFD23F, a soft whoosh as the logo lands. Then back to the video.

For the last 15 seconds, make an outro: my logo top left, “Watch next” on the right, space on the left and right for end screen tiles, the same yellow.

You don’t need a template because Claude builds the intro from your logo, colours and words. It uses Cut Express’s motion graphics: title cards and intro and outro end cards are among the built-in recipes it adapts to your brand. See motion graphics for YouTube.

Can I reuse the same intro on every video?

Yes. Every edit in Cut Express is a timeline kept with its video. In your next chat, ask Claude to reuse the intro from your last video and it reads that video’s timeline and copies the intro. Or ask for one render of just the intro and outro, download them, and upload them as clips for future edits.

Which intro ideas work for small channels?

  • Logo sting: the logo lands with one sound. Two seconds.
  • Channel name card: your name in your font, typed or slid in.
  • Topic card: the episode title as a title card, like a chapter heading, built with kinetic typography.
  • Cold open plus name: the best moment of the video, then the name card.
  • No intro, strong lower third: your name and channel in the first seconds while you talk.

No. Cut Express has no templates. Claude builds the intro for your channel from what you describe.

Can I use my own font?
You can pick from 83 fonts in the catalog. Custom font uploads aren’t supported yet.

Does it work for Shorts?
Shorts rarely need an intro. Start on the hook. See hooks for the first 3 seconds.
